Nicola Gilford

Nicola commenced her education at Sassafras Primary School before moving on to secondary school at St Paul’s Anglican Grammar in Warragul.

After completing her VCE Nicola obtained degrees in Law and Behavioural Science from Latrobe University; whilst also working for David Jones in Melbourne. Whilst studying she volunteered at the Victoria Legal Aid office in Preston.

She has practiced law with Tyler Tipping & Woods since February of 2005; taking a 6 month leave of absence in 2008 to live and travel in Europe.

Nicola is currently vice-president of the Gippsland Law Association, a member of the Steering Committee of the Gippsland Family Law Pathways Network and on the referral list of the Victim’s Assistance and Counselling Program.

Her areas of practice include Family Law, Indictable Crime, Intervention Order proceedings, Children’s Court (Family Jurisdiction) cases and Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal/Sentencing Act applications.

Outside of work Nicola enjoys overseas travel, going to movies and eating out with friends, dancing and reading and has recently discovered a (previously well suppressed) green thumb.
