Bradley Wykes

Solicitor

Bradley is a first generation Australian, having moved here from Canada in early 2000. He graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in Political Science and History, which he then used to attend the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology for one year for journalism. He then went out and worked for a newspaper in the Rockies for over a year before moving to Australia.

Initially, Bradley needed to find work wherever he could, so he started by working at the timber mill in Tumbarumba, moved to Morwell where he worked at the Kodak shop processing pictures, and eventually moving down to Tasmania, where he worked as a freelance writer for a forestry trade magazine.

Informed by a newspaper editor he would need to attend University in Australia to attain the 'Australian Standard' of journalism, Bradley decided to become involved in banking. Working first for the Commonwealth Bank in Hobart (eventually becoming a financial planner), then moving back to the mainland and working for the National Australia Bank (evenutally becoming a home lender for a brief period) here in Gippsland for 13 years. During those thirteen years, Bradley decided to become a lawyer. He attended RMIT via Open University and over the course of eight years working full time and taking courses at night achieved his goal. A further year for Practical Legal Training through the College of Law online allowed Bradley to gain the skills required to apply to become a lawyer.
